Facilities
State of the art experimental facilities are embedded within the various
Departments and Schools and Centres associated with the Network. The University maintains
fully supported centres hosting large items of infrastructure, for example the
Centre for Advanced Microscopy (CfAM),
which are used extensively. In addition many programmes benefit from extensive
use of central facilities such as synchrotrons and neutron sources throughout
Europe.
Theoretical support and computational modelling form an essential and complementary activity
to the experimental work. These are again supported by excellent facilities
across many different platforms.
